Rushing Creek Boutique, LLC was conceived
by my family when we moved to Andrews, North Carolina. It was time to
come out of “retirement” for me! I had been a stay at home mom for quite
a few years, and had become a community volunteer at my former town of
residence in another state.
I originally wanted to raise Nubian goats and learn how to milk them and
then to develop a new flavor of organic goat cheese, but, that didn’t
actually get to start. While ambling down our beautiful Main Street one
day, we saw this great store front and the ideas began to flow. My teen
aged daughter, my husband and I came up with the idea of a woman’s
upscale clothing and accessories store for this community. Andrews did
not have any available clothing stores for teens or adult women. We do,
however, have a Wal-Mart and a Goody’s, but they are in the next
town. So began my research! I interviewed many local ladies to determine
the actual need. Many of the “locals” did their shopping on line or
drove to Asheville or to Atlanta. Both of those towns are 2 hours away!
Anyway, we opened in March of 2006 on my wedding anniversary and haven’t
looked back! Although, the world of retail is demanding, it is also very
rewarding. We work very hard here, but we have a lot of fun, too. We
have made some great friends also.
We decided to add the on-line store because many of our customers are
only part time residents here and often call to have something sent to
them prior to their arrival back in Andrews.
